Little
Butterfly began over 10 years ago. At the time I had two toddlers, whom I
enjoyed designing and making clothing for.
Prior to beginning my business, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from
Syracuse University and went on to be a Graphic Designer for Hasbro and then
Spaulding Sports. I now enjoyed putting these creative talents, sense of design
and color, booth design, logo design, web design and photography towards my
business.
Initially, I took the outfits I designed and presented them to a few small
church fairs, where they were very well received. From there, my business has
grown. I now have a large studio space in my home with an eight-foot long
cutting table and four sewing machines. I also have an experienced and talented
seamstress, Sharon who works with me. On occasion, I'll have a high school
intern helping me with the basic sewing, organizing and tagging.
My two girls used to be my models and inspiration. Now that they are all grown
up, they are occasionally my helpers. You may meet them assisting me at a craft
fair and, perhaps, will assist you and your little girl in picking out a
favorite fabric and accessory and advising you as to the best size for your
precious little girl and, of course, her doll.

Over time I found
the basic jumper and jumpsuit to be wonderfully flexible. It can be dressed up
with a beautiful blouse for the holidays or for a special occasion; the same
jumper can be more casual for a back-to-school outfit or as an everyday outfit
with a turtleneck or as a sundress with no shirt underneath. A few years ago, I
found that beautifully well-constructed blouses for girls are very hard to find;
so I began making them. They have taken off! Though they are very time consuming
to make, they are now part of my product line, along with elegant pettidresses.
When my girls were
toddlers, their Cabbage Patch dolls had to have matching outfits! Then came the
American Girl dolls. I now have four doll sizes to fit an 18”doll, a 13”-15”
doll such as Bitty Baby, Cabbage Patch Babies or stuffed animal, a 23” doll such
as the My Twinn Doll, and a chubbier stuffed animal such as Build-a-Bears.

I hope to meet you and
your little girl (or girls) at one of the
craft fairs
that I attend throughout New England and New York. If you have any questions,
please feel free to
contact me.
